Julie started off with a lofty goal: to live to be 150 years old. She made it her life’s work to maintain her mobility and keep her independence as she aged. That was where physical therapy came in. She believed relying on the body’s power to heal and ability to build resilience would make even 150 years old attainable.
The current healthcare climate is not leading to happier and healthier patients as they move through life’s various stages. Opioid use for chronic pain management has become a nationwide crisis and physical therapy is an alternative treatment method that can address this growing problem. Julie’s philosophy as a physical therapist is a simple one. She is a partner on your journey to optimal health and her role is to help facilitate your understanding of your pain and how it affects your daily life. From there, you will be given the best strategies to fortify the body and come back stronger than before. Julie vows to give you the tools to live independently with longevity and continue to do what you love. She believes in collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals that will bring about the solution to chronic pain.
Julie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors at Chapman University and is currently a Doctor of Physical Therapy candidate graduating in 2018. While in school, she was an Exercise Leader for neurological patients in the Community Exercise Class and worked
closely with stroke patients for evaluation and treatment as a Research Assistant for Chapman University’s Stroke Boot Camp. She worked with California Children’s Services and Outpatient Orthopedics: Mariner’s Physical Therapy where she gained valuable insight into what was the
most effective way to treat her patients. She is currently researching low back pain in dancers.
Julie is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Private Practice Section, and Women’s Health Section. Julie strongly believes in keeping up to date with current treatment methods, as physical therapy is an ever-evolving profession. The most recent conferences she attended in the last year were the Combined Sections Meeting, San Diego Pain Summit, and Women in Physical Therapy. Julie is also a production assistant (and has also guest starred) for the leading Podcast on physical therapy Healthy Wealthy and Smart. Here she engaged in career development and entrepreneur workshops with physical therapy students across the country.
